For the first time in many years, I have not committed to running any summer school library media programs. I need a summer to grow my own learning. I also have a vision for a gamified digital citizenship module that I would like to develop for lower elementary students. Thinking and designing takes time. More importantly, it takes down time. Down time to stare and the lake or just look out the window is where truly creative ideas can take wing. So for this summer, I have given myself and my ideas time to float away like butterflies on the summer breeze in the hope that this freshness will give space for new developments in my thinking, my making and my teaching.
