I am extremely excited to be part of the Reading People Book Launch Team. It is such a privilege to get a peek behind the curtain into the book publishing world. I did not even know that services such as Netgalley.com, which allows authors to invite people to read the galleys of their books, even existed. Galleys are books that are still in process and are not yet published. I had seen some before, but never actually had the ability to read one myself for the purpose of giving advance reviews and publicity.

The book itself was already on my to be read list, so I was doubly delighted to be able to read it before the date of publication. (If it is on your to be read list, you can pre-order it here.) Reading People did not disappoint! There is so much information in this book that each chapter could probably be a book on its own, yet the style is conversational and casual. This is not a dry collection of facts but more like talking to a very well-informed friend. Before I even finished the first fifty pages, I already had new insight into some of the behaviors going on within my own family. I also recommend this book to teachers as a means of gaining some new lenses with which to view student behaviors. Teens who are trying to figure out their place in the world might also find it handy and useful. If you want to have more insight into what makes people tick, this is a worthwhile book for you.
